Luckily we have some pretty talented students on campus who like to take pictures. Thanks to Anna Albonetti, a junior, she helped capture the weekend and we're here to give you a little taste of what it was like (you know, in case you were out of town or something).

Okay, if we're going to have the snow at least people are enjoying it! (Maybe not the guy on the bottom in this picture..) Here's to a winter that we will never forget!

Be careful if you're out today, there is a wind advisory and it's getting pretty gusty. But at least it's not raining, right?

Nashville Plaza Model?

This picture of the downtown judicial plaza looks like a play model. A play model that we'd like to play in. Well, don't be tricked: this shot is completely real. The photographer used a camera trick of the trade called "tilt shift." Google it. You'll see some pretty cool results.

LU Bison

This picture is a portrait of a Lipscomb Legend: Lu. Lu is the face for Lipscomb Athletics as well as the marker for striking fear in the hearts of our opponents. We love Lu and are proud of him. Now if we could just keep him from leaving us those "gifts" on the grass...

Our picture today is in honor of the market somehow managing to make it back up to 10,000 points. Now maybe they can start paying for this huge flag.

Wulu doesn't know what effect is happening here, but we know it's not photoshop. Check out more of these pictures on Chase's Facebook.
Picture 1.jpg

These are beautiful, but we're pretty excited for the empty trees and crisp air. It's a beautiful day and it's still pretty warm, so we think maybe we'll head to Centennial and throw a frisbee before it really gets too cold...

cheekwood morning.JPGHere's a picture taken at the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens in some soft morning light.  Cheekwood is a favorite spot for Nashville's photography buffs, and the gardens will be opening early this Saturday to give amateur photographers the chance to catch some rare shots.  If you can pull yourself out of bed tomorrow, you can start shooting the gardens at 6 A.M.

Behind The Lens

For those of you who have been through Starbucks this morning, you may have seen this guy. He's taking pictures of campus scenes, students, and whatever else encompasses the Lipscomb community. He has taken pictures of former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton as well as former Vice President Al Gore and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. His name is Billy Howard, and he is our picture of the day.

Where are you blue skies?

Today is dreary. This picture seems lovely. It's nice to look at days we take for granted on a day like today! Sun come out!

Today in honor of those braving the rain, our picture encompasses all that we truly wish would be happening today. School gets out when it snows, not when it rains. So, we're hoping for snow in the mid-future. (This is not likely to happen).

Photo taken from the Lipscomb website

Assuming you were at Convocation yesterday (we sure were!), you will probably recognize the man in this picture shaking President Lowry's hand. It is His Excellency Jocelyn Radifera and he attended and spoke as the Ambassador of Madagascar in an effort to encourage all of our Malagasi students during this rough time of political turmoil in Madagascar. It was touching and truly moving to hear his words, and we really want to know if he was serious when he said he blackmailed the current regime...

Well, before I tell you how I met Glenda today, here's how I spent my Friday afternoon...

I grabbed my camera, Bible, and journal, and hopped in my car and headed downtown. This afternoon was absolutely gorgeous and I really just wanted to drive around with no real sense of direction, and maybe take some pictures along the way. My adventure started at Centennial Park where I sat for about an hour, where I prayed over our city and worshipped.

Next stop was Capitol hill. I love this place mainly because of the view. It overlooks Bicentennial Mall and is at one of the highest points in all of downtown Nashville.

Then, I went over to Marathon Village. Marathon Village is a small community of designers, photographers, film producers, and other artists. Where it is located is in the old Marathon Motors warehouse. Needless to say, there's alot of history here.

Parthenon

parthenon.jpg

There's not a lot to say about this striking picture of The Parthenon other than we would like to think this is how it looked in Ancient Greece,... yes, with the lights too.

But not likely.
