70 year-old Ken Griffith, a Bison baseball player in 1959, suited up and practiced with the team one more time earlier this week. Besides reliving some great memories, Ken gave the team a few pointers on leveling their swings and growing awesome mustaches. Watch Ken's story here.
If you're interested at all by marketing, advertising, design, art, or business, we HIGHLY recommend you see this film while it's still in theaters (last showing is Tuesday!). The documentary plunges into the world of creative advertising and discusses the ins and outs of the industry, what America thinks of the industry, and how powerful it really can become. Through a variety of interviews with several leading creatives, the inner-workings of the ad industry is revealed in a quite artistic manner. No matter what your opinion on advertising is, you won't leave disappointed and you definitely won't look at an ad the same way.

In preparation for tonight's men's soccer game against Belmont, we thought it might be helpful to give you some insight into the mind of our opponent. This video documents how the Bruins get pumped for big games. A pep rally? A concert? Something crazy and fun like the Running of the Bison? Not quite. It's...umm...something much more creative.

The sense of community, that has for many years distinguished the church, is disappearing. In an increasingly individualistic culture, the church, especially the Western church, has forgotten that the body of Christ has been called to be exactly that: a body, a community that functions as a unit. The church amounts to more than a collection of individuals. The church must live as the body of Christ, empowered by the Spirit, in this world. The bible bleeds the idea of community. From the beginning, there was community. Adam and Eve were community. The covenant of Abraham called God's people to bless others. Israel was a community. Christ came and lived in community with his apostles. Without doubt, the first century church was a community.[1] For the contemporary church to be the body of Christ, this essence of community must be recaptured. There can be no more "collection of individuals." Relationships in Christ are meant to be more than that.

Do you ever fall victim to complacency?
Then I would like to introduce you to my friend, Gandalf.
I'm currently watching Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. As I'm enjoying this epic piece in film history, I can't help but notice the stagnant rut that King Theoden has fallen in. The man just sits around entranced all day while his kingdom runs itself right into the ground. I suppose you can let him off the hook since he's under an evil spell and all, but the man banishes Karl Urban and his legion of bamf horsemen right out of the kingdom of Rohan! Who does that?! I mean really.
Anyway, it isn't until ole Gandalf the White meanders his way into Rohan and mystically bashes him right in his dumb skull that Theoden springs free from this evil spell. This magical head-shot transforms the king from
to
in a matter of moments. This new rejuvenated king goes on to rally his men to win the battle of Helm's Deep, which springboards them to their ferocious cavalry charge in Return of the King. If you haven't seen this uber cavalry scene, rent Return of the King and watch it. You'll thank yourself.

Here's a picture taken at the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens in some soft morning light. Cheekwood is a favorite spot for Nashville's photography buffs, and the gardens will be opening early this Saturday to give amateur photographers the chance to catch some rare shots. If you can pull yourself out of bed tomorrow, you can start shooting the gardens at 6 A.M.
